Nigerian Afrobeat musician, Wizkid featured Drake in a song titled Come Closer. Wizkid also co-wrote “One Dance” with Drake and Kyla. Both songs were recorded at the same time but Come Closer was released the following year. Drake was absent in both videos of the song. This led to the speculation that the two artists had beef.

When the first video of ‘Come Closer’ dropped, Wizkid excused Drake’s absence when he tweeted: “Had a family emergency during ‘One Dance’ video shoot, and Drake was on tour when we did ‘Come Closer’. No bad blood, one love still”. The tweet was quickly deleted afterwards.

Wizkid also unfollowed Drake sometime in July, further worsening the speculation.

he second video of Come Closer was released and Drake was still absent in the video.

Drake has a history of not showing up in videos. He did it to Future with “Tony Montana,” Migos with “Versace,” and Fetty Wap with the “My Way” remix.

Drake’s eighth annual concert “Ovo Fest” recently started. He performed One Dance and Come Closer on stage in Toronto without Wizkid, and this infuriated Nigerian Wizkid fans.

Was this Drake’s ploy to warm up the cold shoulder he had been giving Wizkid and show that their relationship is still very healthy, or are they still at loggerheads? What do you think?

Meanwhile, Wizkid was just chilling in Nicki Minaj’s studio. She shared a photo on Instagram of herself and Wizkid at her studio, where they were freestyling. It seems they are working on a song together and that thought is very exciting.
